Best MATTA Fair 2026 Deals I’d Actually Pay Attention To

MATTA Fair 2026 is finally here, and while the physical fair only runs until Sunday, seasoned Malaysian travellers will know the online ecosystem usually behaves a little differently. The banners may scream “weekend only”, but travel brands tend to quietly let the momentum roll for several more days after the fair itself ends.

So instead of drowning you in a wall of promo codes and microscopic terms and conditions, here are the MATTA Fair deals I think are actually worth paying attention to this week. As usual, I’m focusing more on practical value than brochure fluff.

Agoda Promotions

Agoda remains one of the first tabs many Malaysians open during travel fair season, and both Mastercard and Visa have now refreshed their year-long promotions for 2026.

On the Mastercard side, the structure is clean and easy to understand. World Elite Mastercard cardholders get 16% off with a cap of USD60 and a minimum spend of USD200. World, Select and Platinum Prepaid Mastercard cardholders get 12% off with a cap of USD45 and a USD150 minimum spend. All other Mastercard cards get 8% off with a cap of USD25 and a USD100 minimum spend.

Visa has also refreshed its Agoda proposition, with eligible Visa Signature cards now getting up to 16% off, while the broader Visa base gets 7% off. So yes, both schemes now shout the same “up to 16%” headline.

That said, I still think Agoda’s 2026 refresh is less exciting than it first appears. The bigger issue is not even the advertised discount itself, but the number of hotels that are actually marked “Promo Eligible”.

Previously, it genuinely felt like a good 60% to 70% of hotels I searched would qualify. This round, it feels materially worse. In many searches, it now looks like fewer than half of the properties are actually eligible for the discount. That is a major step backwards.

Then there is Agoda’s separate Visa Infinite Stay 3 Pay 2 offer, which sounds glamorous until you actually read the mechanics. It only applies to international stays, only on selected 4-star-and-above hotels, only if you make a single 3-night booking, and only twice per calendar month per card.

Cancelled bookings still burn your quota, and the quota itself refreshes on the 1st and 16th of each month on a first come first serve basis. The discount is capped at USD150 per transaction.

In other words, the Visa Infinite offer is not useless, but it is nowhere near as exciting as the headline suggests. Unless a specific hotel you already wanted happens to qualify, I would not twist myself into a pretzel trying to force this one.

Trip.com Online Travel Fair

If there is one OTA I would pay the most attention to during this MATTA Fair cycle, it is actually Trip.com.

Trip.com’s Online Travel Fair runs from 3 to 7 April, and the good thing is that once you strip away the noise, the structure is fairly straightforward. Instead of trying to chase every single fare tile individually, I would honestly just direct readers to the main Online Travel Fair landing page and let them browse from there.

On the flights side, Trip.com has rotating app-only promo codes such as RM30 off with a RM400 minimum spend, RM80 off with a RM1,000 minimum spend, RM100 off with a RM850 minimum spend for Malaysia departures, and 15% off Business Class flights departing Malaysia.

There are also airline-specific pages within the fair, plus a Japan section highlighting Japan Airlines fares with discounts of up to 20% off for travel by 31 October 2026.

That said, the hotel side is where I think most readers will get more practical value. The fair currently features hotel promo codes of up to RM200 off, with examples such as RM100 off with a minimum spend of RM1,500 and RM200 off with a minimum spend of RM2,500.

The usual caveat applies here too: many of these codes are app-only and some are first come first serve. Still, I currently prefer the overall sale experience on Trip.com versus Agoda, because the fair page is easier to digest, the hotel offers are presented more clearly in one place, and you do not have to play as much detective work with “promo eligible” inventory.

Malaysia Airlines MATTA Fair Deals

Malaysia Airlines is going fairly aggressive for MATTA Fair 2026, with up to 30% off flights and the public sale now running from 2 April to 13 April for travel until 31 March 2027.

At a base level, the proposition is solid enough. You get discounted Malaysia Airlines-operated fares, with promo inventory under Economy Promo and Business Promo buckets. Domestic lead-in fares start from RM199 all-in return in Economy and RM659 all-in return in Business Class, while international lead-in fares start from RM409 all-in return in Economy and RM1,609 all-in return in Business Class.

If you are an Enrich member, the MATTA page becomes more interesting because there is an extra 5% off on top of the fare sale. EnrichMoney cardholders also get 5x EnrichMoney Points, while AmBank Enrich Visa cardholders get bonus Enrich points depending on the sale phase.

There is also a separate Visa layer here, which is probably the angle many readers will care about. The Malaysia Airlines x Visa offer gives an additional 5% off during the public sale, and this sits on top of the Enrich member discount if you are logged in. The important catch is that this only applies to Business Promo fares in RBD Z and Economy Promo fares in RBD O.

For most Visa cards issued in Malaysia, the promo code MHVISA26 has to be entered when booking. AmBank Enrich Visa cardholders, on the other hand, get the Visa discount automatically through the dedicated booking flow.

Malaysia Airlines is also discounting ancillaries during the same window, with 30% off extra baggage and 20% off seat selection. Not game changing, but definitely more useful than most airline “extras” usually are.

Singapore Airlines Time To Fly

Singapore Airlines is also running its Time To Fly promotion, and this one lasts until 12 April for selected travel periods through 17 November 2026.

The earlier access angle for KrisFlyer and Maybank cardmembers was the sexy part, but as of today the broader public sale matters more.

The current page shows sample economy fares from Malaysia such as MYR638 to Singapore, MYR1,288 to Jakarta and Denpasar, MYR1,298 to several China points like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Chongqing and Chengdu, MYR1,348 to Hong Kong, MYR1,668 to Shanghai, Hangzhou and Beijing, and MYR2,918 to Tokyo.

As always with Singapore Airlines sales, I would not over-romanticise the banner. The value is best when you already wanted to fly Singapore Airlines or Scoot on these routes, rather than forcing a booking simply because the marketing page looks polished.

Still, for readers who prefer KrisFlyer miles, a stronger regional network, or simply want an alternative to Malaysia Airlines, this is a perfectly decent sale to keep open in another tab.

Final Thoughts

If I had to rank the MATTA Fair ecosystem this week in terms of where I would personally start my search, it would probably be Trip.com first for hotels, then Agoda for comparison, followed by Malaysia Airlines or Singapore Airlines depending on which carrier I actually want to fly.

The biggest reminder, especially if you are physically heading to MATTA Fair and planning to pay at a travel agent booth, is to check your credit card’s treatment of Travel Services transactions before you swipe.

A lot of in-person travel fair purchases, especially flight bookings made via travel agents, code under the Travel Services MCC. Plenty of Malaysian credit cards either exclude this category entirely or reward it very poorly. The last thing you want is to spend a large sum at the fair and realise your card basically gave you nothing useful in return.

Also, do not forget Agoda’s cheeky currency conversion policy for Pay Later bookings. If you book in a currency different from the property’s main currency, Agoda can apply its own conversion mechanics later on, which is precisely the sort of nonsense that turns a “deal” into a mild annoyance. The safest move is simple: always pay in the currency of the hotel.

That is also why, on balance, I currently find Trip.com easier to recommend during sale season. The hotel fair page is cleaner, the offers are easier to browse in one place, and the platform does not come with quite as many funny little hoops.

So yes, MATTA Fair 2026 is worth a look. Just do not get hypnotised by giant discount numbers alone. Read the rules, compare across platforms, and make sure your credit card is actually rewarding the spend you are about to put through.
