Trip.com Launches Luxury Travel Campaign

Every now and then, a “premium travel” promotion shows up that is actually… useful.

Trip.com’s When Luxury Meets Savings campaign is exactly that: it’s aimed at people booking business class, 4 and 5 star hotels, and the occasional “let’s just rent a car and wing it” trip.

The Premium Flights Angle (Business class from Malaysia)

Trip.com is positioning this as a coupon drop, and the important part is that it is first come, first served upon payment, while stocks last.

Based on what’s shown on the campaign, there are 2 general promo tiers for business and first class flights departing from Malaysia:

  • RM150 off with minimum spend RM2,500

  • RM500 off with minimum spend RM6,000

If you are already paying cash for premium cabin flights (work travel, family trips, positioning flights, last minute redemptions that turned into paid tickets), the RM500 tier is the one that actually moves the needle. RM150 is still nice, but it’s more “free dinner at the airport” than “wow, that hurts less”.

On top of the general codes, Trip.com is also pushing airline specific promos. The headline ones on the campaign page include:

  • Qatar Airways discount up to 20% off (travel period shown: 14 Jan till 30 Sep 2026)

  • Malaysia Airlines discount up to 15% off (travel period shown: 13 Jan till 30 Jun 2026)

Do note that Qatar's promotion lasts until the end of 21st January 2026, so if you've already got your dates locked in for flights to the UK or Europe, this is probably a good time to confirm your plans.

Luxury Flights within Southeast Asia (and a few neighbours)

There is also a separate carousel called Luxury Flights within Southeast Asia, and it widens the airline net beyond the usual suspects. Airlines listed there include Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, ANA, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air, Philippine Airlines, plus China Eastern, China Southern and Air China.

This section is useful for regional premium hops where you still want a proper seat (or at least a less miserable one), especially if you are the type to justify “business class within Asia” as a form of self care.

Hotels Are Where the Real Value Is

If you’re trying to get the most out of this campaign, hotels are the higher probability play.

Trip.com is explicitly marketing Hot Hotel Deals for 4 and 5 star hotels, and it also has a “Platinum Luxury Hotels” filter (Trip.com’s top 15% of luxury hotels) and a “Gold Luxury Hotels” filter for high end properties. This is basically Trip.com telling you, “stop scrolling random listings, here’s a shortcut to the good stuff.”

Now here’s the part I actually like for Bangkok (and honestly, for most of Asia): newly opened hotels tend to price aggressively in the first few months, because they want volume, reviews, and momentum. Trip.com also runs a separate New Hotel Deals page that focuses on newly opened or recently renovated properties, and advertises savings up to 20%.

If you want a destination where “luxury meets savings” is not just marketing fluff, Bangkok is the cheat code. You get new hotels, strong competition, and pricing that often makes Kuala Lumpur feel oddly expensive.

Trip.com’s campaign is not a “Bangkok only” thing, but I want to single out one hotel mentioned because it’s a perfect example of how to play this strategically: KROMO Bangkok, Curio Collection by Hilton.

It’s newly built and sits on Sukhumvit Soi 29, right in the EmDistrict and Phrom Phong to Asok zone, with Benchasiri Park within walking distance. In human terms, this is the “I want malls, massages, food, and BTS access without thinking too hard” neighbourhood.

Hilton positions it as the brand debut of Curio Collection by Hilton in Thailand, and it officially opened on September 24, 2025. So yes, it is genuinely new.

If you’re into design driven hotels, Hilton is leaning hard into the “City of Nine Gems” concept, plus the rooftop pool and overall lifestyle angle.

Final Thoughts

If you are an affluent traveller who already books premium flights and higher end hotels, this Trip.com promo is worth paying attention to.

The flight coupons are straightforward value, but the real upside is being disciplined: claim early, book fast, and remember redemption is only secured upon successful payment, not when you are hovering on the checkout screen.

For most Refined Points readers though, the smarter move is book via appropriate channels using the best credit cards. I've written extensively on my article here, so be sure to check it out.
