Review | Cathay Pacific The Bridge Lounge Hong Kong

It’s finally the holiday season, which means one thing: I’m back in full tourist mode, armed with my laptop, my camera, and my never-ending desire to review airline lounges while talking about credit card strategies.
December is always my favourite month to travel, and Hong Kong International Airport is easily one of the best playgrounds for any Oneworld flyer.
The lounge scene here is genuinely world-class. If you’re a Oneworld Sapphire (Enrich Gold) or Oneworld Emerald (Enrich Platinum), Hong Kong is arguably the best hub in Asia for lounge-hopping. And within this ecosystem, Cathay Pacific’s network of lounges consistently sets the global standard.
Among them, The Bridge is one of the most interesting. It reopened earlier this year and sits in a superb location — both physically and psychologically. For many travellers, especially Malaysians who are used to subpar Enrich lounges back home, this lounge feels like a breath of fresh air.
Lounge Location

The Bridge is located at the apex of Hong Kong International Airport’s terminal, right where the concourse forks into two wings. This makes it exceptionally convenient for those departing from Gates 30–36 as well as Gates 50–60 on the left wing.
Because The Pier Business and The Pier First lounges are situated on the opposite wing (Gates 60–70), The Bridge essentially saves you from long walks — particularly helpful if you’re short on time or simply not in the mood for a 10-minute trek across the terminal.
Naturally, this strategic location also means the lounge can get quite busy, especially during peak departure waves.
Lounge Entry Requirements

The Bridge is a Business Class lounge, and access is straightforward.
If you’re a Oneworld Sapphire or higher, you’re good to go. This means that Malaysians with Enrich Gold or Enrich Platinum can enter as long as they’re flying on a Oneworld ticket, whether on Malaysia Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, or any other Oneworld carrier.
If you’re flying Malaysia Airlines to or from Hong Kong and hold Enrich Gold, you most definitely can (and should) visit the lounge. Malaysia Airlines usually redirects their frequent flyers to Plaza Premium lounges instead, which are decent but categorically not on the same level as Cathay's offerings.
Oneworld Sapphire members can also bring in one guest.
Lounge Space
Once you enter, The Bridge splits into two wings — left and right.

You can explore both freely, except for one small enclosed area reserved for Cathay’s Diamond members and First Class passengers. Even Oneworld Emeralds can’t access this space, so I wasn’t able to capture photos of it.

The main lounge is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, but there are two areas you should prioritise when you visit.
First, the dining halls. The Food Hall offers more western-style selections, while the Noodle Bar serves Asian dishes, including Cathay’s famous signature noodles.

At the tail end of the Noodle Bar, you’ll find The Nook — a cosy dining area featuring unlimited dim sum carts during designated meal hours. Do note that dim sum availability runs on a schedule, and I unfortunately missed it this round, so plan your visit accordingly.

Second, the Bar.

Located on the same side as the Food Hall, this space offers excellent views of the tarmac. If you need to get some work done while enjoying a drink, coffee, or tea, this is the perfect spot to settle in for an hour or two.

The natural light and panoramic apron views make this one of the most relaxing corners of the lounge.
Shower Suites
The Bridge offers several shower suites, similar to other Cathay lounges. Given the fresh refurbishment, I’d expect them to be clean, modern, and high quality. I didn’t get the chance to try them out because I spent a little too much time at The Pier First before rushing for my flight.
I’ll include some Cathay stock photos for reference.

Final Thoughts
The Bridge is one of those lounges that doesn’t try to overshadow Cathay’s flagship spaces, and it doesn’t need to. Instead, it fills a critical gap in Hong Kong International Airport by being strategically located, comfortably designed, and highly functional for travellers who don’t have the time (or energy) to trek across the terminal to The Pier Business.
While The Pier First and The Pier Business will always remain the crown jewels of Cathay’s lounge portfolio, The Bridge stands out because of its convenience. It offers a strong dining selection, a beautifully lit bar area, and a relaxed ambiance that feels unmistakably “Cathay”.
For Malaysians flying Malaysia Airlines with Enrich Gold or above, this is a very decent lounge option at Hong Kong International Airport, and a massive upgrade from being relegated to Plaza Premium where Malaysia Airlines sends you to.
If you’re connecting through Hong Kong, The Bridge is absolutely worth a visit, especially if your departure gate is close by. It strikes the perfect balance between comfort, convenience, and premium touches, making it an easy recommendation for any Oneworld frequent flyer.
